Couvrant FAQ's

Window treatments are professional products used to cover windows and/or doors in order to change the look, feel and functionality of a space. Window treatments can consist of curtains, drapes, blinds, shades (roller, Roman or cellular), shutters, and drapery hardware.

The materials used in window treatments range from fabric and wood to metal or bamboo. Each type of treatment serves a different purpose and offers many benefits such as improved insulation for heating or cooling bills; light control through different levels of opacity; increased privacy by blocking out visible sunlight; sound absorption which can help reduce outside noise; style enhancement due to the large selection available from modern-contemporary designs all the way back to traditional fabrics; energy efficiency benefits as some window treatments can provide an extra layer between your environment and the elements outside – combating heat gain during summer months when direct sunlight is most intense.

Lastly but just as importantly: an aesthetic improvement adding beauty & style that compliments any interior design theme! With so many options available it’s easy to find several attractive styles within any budget range – making window treatment decisions not only functional but fashionable!

Window treatments are a great way to improve the efficiency, comfort, and style of your home. Home window treatments can help regulate temperature in a room by blocking direct sunlight from entering and trapping heat inside during cold months. This helps lower heating bills while still allowing natural light into the house. Additionally, they provide privacy by making it difficult to see into a room from outside without sacrificing too much natural light.

Professionally installed window treatments also allow you to customize the look of your windows with fabrics that come in an array of colors and styles. They can add character and flair to any room while also protecting your furniture, carpets, floors, walls, artwork or photographs from fading due to UV rays coming through the windows over time.

Finally, professionally installed products help save time since they are often easier to clean than their DIY counterparts. Professionals will measure windows accurately for perfect fitting blinds or shades that can be wiped down or vacuumed quickly when necessary – saving you both time and money in cleaning costs down the road!

There are a few things you can do to find the best window treatment company near me. First, ask your friends and family if they have any recommendations. Then, check online review sites like Yelp or Google Reviews to see what others are saying about local companies. Finally, give a few companies a call and ask for quotes to get an idea of pricing and services offered. With a little bit of research, you should be able to find the perfect company for your window treatment needs!

The installation time for new window treatments can vary significantly depending on the size of your windows, the type of window treatment being installed, and whether you are having a professional do the job or doing it yourself.

If you’re installing simpler DIY treatments like blinds or shades, it should only take an hour or two to install all of them. For more complex and involved treatments such as trust rod curtains or custom-made shutters that need to be mounted into walls and door frames, then a professional is likely best suited for the task. Professionals can often complete this sort of work in just one day and many companies offer same-day installation services if needed.

Be sure to confirm with any professionals you use regarding how long their estimated completion time is before you hire them so that there are no surprises when they arrive!

Motorized blinds can be a great choice for any home or office due to the many advantages they offer. The convenience of press-button operation allows users to adjust their window coverings quickly and with ease, which can save a lot of time throughout the day. In addition, motorized blinds offer more precise control over light and privacy settings than manual systems do. That’s because you can use remote technology like voice command or a smartphone app to open or close your blinds with the touch of a button – even when you’re not home!

Motorized blinds are also incredibly safe and secure. Instead of having cords or chains to operate them, they utilize motors that are activated by magnetic strips on either side of the window opening. This means that there’s no risk of children getting tangled up in cords as they would with manual systems. What’s more, motorized treatments come equipped with anti-theft measures such as motion sensors and timers so that your possessions stay secure at all times.

Big thanks to Rebecca Munster Designs for sharing with us this information on motorized blinds!

Plantation shutters are a type of window treatment that can add an extra layer of insulation and style to any home. They feature louvered slats that tilt open or closed, allowing homeowners to control the amount of natural light filtering into the room. The louvers also offer some privacy while still allowing desirable views outdoors.

The term “plantation” comes from plantation homes in the southern United States where these adjustable wooden shutters first became popular centuries ago. Today’s wood shutters come in a number of colors and stains, and they can enhance any decor with their classic design elements such as wide blades and operable louver panels for maximum efficiency when it comes to energy usage and maximizing natural light throughout the year. Professional installation is required for optimal results since proper spacing between frames ensures your windows get totally covered without gaps or overlaps when you close them.

Custom made blinds offer a range of benefits that can help make your home more comfortable, stylish, and efficient.

One of the most obvious benefits is that you get to design them based on your own personal preferences. This means you can choose styles, fabrics, colors and sizes that perfectly fit with the existing aesthetic of your home. Not only will this allow for a truly custom-made look and feel but also provide satisfaction in knowing that no one else has window treatments quite like yours!

In addition to offering style variety, custom made blinds have professional advantages as well. They come professionally measured so they’re sure to fit not just within your space but also around any awkward shapes or odd corners too. The end result are precision installed window treatments without any gaps or misalignments making it much easier to keep up with periodic cleaning and maintenance as necessary down the road.

When it comes to modern window treatment ideas, there are a variety of stylish and convenient options available. Professional designers recommend using motorized shades, which can be adjusted with the touch of a button or via a smartphone app from anywhere in the home. Motorized shades provide reduced energy costs and improved privacy since you can lower them by remote instead of having to manually adjust each one. Additionally, solar shades provide an energy-efficient solution as they reduce sun glare without blocking out natural light completely. These also come in various degrees for complete privacy when needed. Other modern treatments include roller blinds, vertical blinds and woven wood shades that create beautiful patterns on windows while providing a great look that won’t block too much light from entering your home. Finally, roman shades are perfect for those looking to add some texture or softness to their space while creating both style and functionality!

Custom upholstery offers a variety of benefits that can help make any space more comfortable and inviting. From improving the overall aesthetic appeal of your surroundings to helping to create a warm, cozy atmosphere, custom upholstery can be an invaluable asset when it comes to decorating or redesigning any room in your home.

One of the primary advantages of custom upholstery is its ability to improve the overall aesthetics and ambiance of a living area. By selecting fabric that matches with existing décor, you can easily give any room a touch of personality and style. Custom upholstered furniture can also add warmth and texture to space, giving it both visual appeal as well as creating an inviting welcoming environment.

Roman shades are a type of window treatment that provides both style and function. They consist of fabric panels suspended on a continuous cord loop, which can be drawn up to resemble an accordion-like stack at the top of the window. When open, they provide privacy (since they block direct light) while still allowing indirect light into your home.

Roman shades have become increasingly popular in home décor due to their versatility and ease of installation. They can be used alone or layered with draperies for maximum impact. They come in a range of colors, patterns, and fabrics including linen, cotton, velvet, silk, or other tightly-woven materials like bamboo and grasscloth. Additionally, many manufacturers now offer blackout Roman shades that are made from special lining and fabrics designed to keep out 100% of outside light for improved darkness control during the day or nighttime hours.

Cleaning window blinds can be tricky, but it’s not impossible! The important thing is to use the right supplies and follow the proper steps.

First, start by removing any dust or dirt from the blinds using a soft brush or vacuum cleaner that has a brush attachment. Once you’ve gotten rid of any loose debris, mix 1/4 cup of dish soap with 1 gallon of warm water in a large bowl or bucket. Use this solution to wash cloth-covered blinds with an old toothbrush or rag; for metal slats, use an old sock instead. Dip your chosen tool into the solution before applying and gently scrub one side at a time until all surfaces are clean. Then rinse off thoroughly using clear water and towel dry each slat one by one to remove excess moisture.

Now that you’ve cleaned off most of the dirt, grime, and dust particles from your window blinds it’s time to tackle any stubborn stains left behind like fingerprints, crayon marks, etc… For these harder stains mix equal parts white vinegar and warm water together in a clean spray bottle then spritz onto problem areas and let soak for 10 minutes before wiping away with soft cloth dampened with plain water. Repeat as needed on tougher spots until all stains have been removed.

To finish up your cleaning job take out all screws holding brackets on each end (so they don’t get wet) then lay down towels underneath the windowsill where your curtains will rest when finished being cleaned so no dripping liquid damages them while still wet afterward – this also applies if you’re washing them over a bathtub too! Finally, just hang back up afterward once fully dry for optimal results – enjoy!

Mini blinds, also known as venetian blinds, are a type of window covering composed of horizontal slats or vanes that can be opened and closed to adjust the amount of light entering the room. The width of the slats ranges from 1/2 inch to 2 inches in size and they typically come in vinyl, aluminum, wood, or faux wood materials.

Mini blinds offer several advantages over other types of window coverings such as curtains and shades because they are lightweight, affordable, easy to maintain, durable and customizable. Additionally, due to their slim profile design they take up less space than traditional curtains or drapery panels when open. Furthermore mini-blinds can help reduce outside noise by trapping air inside the individual cells created between each slat which helps with insulation for both heat during winter months and cool air during summer months thus decreasing energy bills – all while looking great!

Cleaning and maintaining window shutters can be a simple process if done correctly. The first step is to know what material the shutters are made of. Depending on the material, different cleaning and maintenance techniques will be required.

For wooden window shutters, begin by dusting them off with a soft cloth or feather duster as this will ensure less dirt buildup over time. Once this is done, use a wood cleaner that has been specifically formulated for wood surfaces in order to protect them from moisture damage and fading from UV rays. Finally, wax the shutter surface with a paste wax such as Johnson’s Paste Wax which provides an extra layer of protection against dirt and other elements that may lead to discoloration or fading over time.

Vinyl window shutters should also be cleaned on a regular basis in order to keep them looking fresh and new for longer periods of time. Begin by lightly spraying with warm water (no hotter than 100 degrees Fahrenheit) before wiping down with clean microfiber towels or sponges using an alcohol-free cleaning solution designed specifically for plastic materials (such as soap-free Totally Awesome Cleaner). Finish up by buffing out any remaining residue using another clean towel or sponge before allowing it to air dry completely – never leave vinyl window shutters soaking wet! For added protection against UV rays, you can also apply carnauba wax after they are completely dry in order to maintain their look and feel long-term without having to reapply every few months like most conventional cleaners require you do so – perfect if you’re looking for something low maintenance yet efficient when it comes keeping your windows looking great throughout all seasons!

Custom drapes are the perfect way to add beauty and sophistication to any room in your home. Not only do they enhance the aesthetics of a room, but there are numerous practical benefits that come along with having custom drapes.

When you buy custom drapery, you get to choose materials that fit your needs and preferences. From light and sheer fabrics for a minimalistic look, to heavy material that can help insulate your home from both sound and temperature changes, the options available will give you total control over how any room looks or functions. When selecting fabric weight or style for your custom drapes, take into consideration how much sun exposure each window receives throughout the day– this will help guide whether you want thicker fabrics for better insulation, or lighter fabrics for more natural light filtering through.

Aside from providing improved insulation benefits – thermal curtains made of thick fabric can reduce energy costs by up to 25% annually! – custom curtains also offer increased privacy compared to traditional store-bought sheers. If privacy is a concern in any of the rooms in your house when it comes time to open up those blinds or pull back those shades then it’s worth investing in some quality draperies that can block prying eyes.
